LeJog Day Two

Set off from Bodmin at 8am. Very hot but with some wind, unfortunately from  the NE.... Many steep hills again, some of which seemed to go on and on....Varied journey, loads of quaint villages and hamlets in the middle of nowhere, the narrowest roads, some cycle paths and even farm tracks. Part of my route went along part of the Camel Trail which was nice and flat, this being due to the fact it used to be an old railway line, in use from the 1840s to 1967.  The scenery in SW England is wonderful. Magnificent views across endless rolling farm and green countryside. Came across two other cyclists Bob and Sue, , nearing the end of their LeJog, just two days to go. Apparantly the hills in Wales and Scotland aren't too bad compared to those in SW England.  Arrived tired and hungry at the B&B in Witheridge at 6pm. Jane the owner immediately offered a piece of home-made banana bread and a cup of tea which went down a treat! Had a lie down but was awakened by bell ringing practice at the local church. The only place to eat is the Mitre Inn - couple of pints of local ale and a wonderful mackerel salad...just what the doctor  ordered! Background Muzak here is of high quality, including Elgar's "Land of Hope and Glory". Lovely...
