LeJog Day Five

Set off early after a chat with another LeJog cyclist, taking seven days on his £8.000 bike. His bag-carrier was still in bed...  Although a really hot day is forecast, the early morning weather is cloudy, cool with mist across the fields. My route today goes more or less due North passing Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Nantwich.  Unfortustely, just after Ludlow some more back wheel spokes went so decided to head for Shrewsbury for repair. By the time I got to  Stan's had lost three more and the wheel severely buckled. I decided to replace the wheel and luckily they had one in stock. Twenty minutes later a new, stronger wheel was fitted and while waiting had some tasty cake and ginger beer in the shop's upstairs cafe. Set off happy but short lived as half an hour later a punctur!!. Tried to pump it up but discovered the pump was broken..... luckily some 300metres away was a BP petrol station so headed there, fixed the tyre and set off. By now the some was shining and very hot. The journey hereafter event-free and the terrein really quite flat. Tomorrow thunderstorms are forecast.
