LeJog Day One

I ordered good weather, and 28 deg. and blazing hot sun all day is what I got.... After a hearty breakfast served by very chatty Flo, l arrived at (deserted) Land's End at 8.30am. Eventually I found someone to take the obligatory photo and went to the hotel for the rubber stamp. Chuck, an American I saw on the train down from London the day before, cycled up so I took a photo for him. "Thank you sir" he kept saying.... He was taking 18 days. Flo at the B&B reckoned 4000 people do the journey every year. Anyway, I set off at 9am blindly following the satnav which behaved impeccably all day, as did the bike. Cycling in Cornwall is not for the faint-hearted... some of the hills are very severe, almost too steep to cycle up I'd say... I walked up those hills! Probably my own fault as my route was the 'scenic' one, avoiding the dreaded A30 at all costs. Still, what goes up has to come down..... On the plus side some fantastic scenery and quaint villages. I eventually arrived in Bodmin, tired and hungry,  at 6.30pm. Headed into town where I was made very welcome by landlords Paul and Wendy at the Masons Arms, who allowed me to eat my Indian takeaway there!
..... Now to bed ready for Day Two
