LeJog Day Nine

Carnwath is a sad place, but my B&B, the Carnwath Vineyard was a real oasis. Beth and George have refurbished the building to the highest standard, offer a warm welcome and a fantastic breakfast of smoked haddock and poached eggs. I set off at 8.30 heading towards Edinburgh through thick pine forests. The weather was cool and overcast so donned a long sleeved shirt. Unfortunately just before Edinburgh I managed to keel over when making a tight right turn in the wrong gear and my right foot stuck in it's toeclip. A bloody knee and cut finger were quickly bandaged up with the on-board First Aid kit and I was soon on my way. The Forth Bridge heading North out of Edinburgh offered great views with noisy motorway traffic just yards away. I was now on NCN route 1 which I followed up to Kinross. Soon after the heavens opened and I took cover, waiting for the thunderstorm to pass. After Perth NCN Route 77, a superb dedicated cycle path at first, then quiet country roads all the way to my overnight stop, Dunkeld. The last 10 miles were pretty tough however with many hIlls...or was it just my tired legs? My bike is safely stored away in a garage next to the hotel owner's Porsche....a  quick shower then off to Darjeeling Indian restaurant for some well earned sustinance.....
By the way, quite saddle sore now so liberal amounts of Udderly Smooth chamois cream applied!
